You have likely come across this website because you have decided it is time for positive change. Maybe you are feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, depressed, or anxious. Maybe you are noticing problems in a relationship, or difficulty adjusting to changes around you. We all have difficulties from time to time; but sometimes those issues cause problems like getting in the way of work, relationships, sleep, and everyday life. Therapy is an opportunity to work with a trained professional in a safe and confidential environment in order to work on problem areas and make positive changes. I hope you will find this website helpful in your search. Sometimes a brief phone call can help you decide if a therapist is a good match. Feel free to call, and we can further discuss the changes you are hoping to make in therapy.
Considering therapy for the first time? The decision to begin the process of therapy is not an easy one for many people. People often believe that they should be able to solve their own problems, and that going to a professional somehow reflects a weakness. But remember: as your therapist, I am not going to solve your problems for you. I will use my expertise to help you to find new ways of looking at problematic issues; you will use your strengths to take what you’ve learned and develop a healthier way of dealing with those issues.
How will therapy help? Successful therapy can lead to a variety of positive changes. I will work with you along the way to evaluate and make sure that you are getting what you want out of therapy. Therapy can help you overcome issues that have been getting in the way of reaching your personal goals. Symptoms of depression, stress, and anxiety can be alleviated. Relationships with others can improve dramatically, as you discover what has been causing the relationship difficulties, and you learn to think about and interact differently with those around you. Learning about yourself and experiencing the success of creating positive change for yourself can lead to improved confidence and ability to face, and embrace, the challenges of life. The result, of course, is endless possibilities for positive change in your life.
